At Sealprem, we know that every little step counts when it comes to protecting the planet. That’s why this Environment Day, we want to share something we’re really proud of: how we’re turning our foam waste into something useful—instead of letting it end up in landfill or be burned.
💡 What Happens to Our Foam Waste?
In our filler manufacturing process, we work with XPE and MP foam—a strong, lightweight material. But like most manufacturing, there’s some leftover waste.
Rather than throwing it away, we’ve partnered with an amazing recycling company in the Netherlands. Together, we’ve made sure that none of our foam waste is incinerated or dumped. Instead, it’s collected, recycled, and turned into brand-new products.
♻️ Here’s How It Works:
We Collect It
All our leftover foam is gathered up, separated from other waste and prepared for transport. Our recycling partner has been doing this for decades and even provides custom solutions to make the process as efficient and low-impact as possible.
It Gets Shredded (Not Burned)
In the Netherlands, the foam is shredded into flakes using a chemical-free process. It’s clean, safe, and turns waste into raw material that’s ready for a second life.
It Becomes Something New
Those flakes are then used to create new foam products—mainly for safe, sustainable sports and play environments. These products are circular, meaning they can be recycled again and again, and they’re already being used in over 80 countries.
🚫 Zero Waste. 100% Reuse.
Thanks to this partnership our foam does not go to landfill or incineration. It’s all recycled and reused—and we think that’s something worth celebrating.
Why We Do It
Because waste doesn’t have to be wasted. At Sealprem, we’re always looking for better ways to do things—and that includes what happens to our offcuts. Throwing foam waste into landfill or burning it just never sat right with us.
So we found a smarter solution. By recycling and reusing our foam, we’re helping reduce pollution, cut down on emissions, and give our materials a second life. It’s a small change in our process, but it makes a big difference for the planet.
We’re proud of the progress we’ve made—and we’re committed to doing more. Because when it comes to the environment, we all have a part to play.
